The International Rayon and Synthetic Fibres Committee ( CIRFS)

Profile:Comite International de la Rayonne et des Fibres Synth�tiques ( CIRFS) represents the European man-made fibers industry. It provides its members with market information regarding production, deliveries, and stocks in the man-made fibers industry in Western Europe, Central Europe and Turkey on the basis of its data collection & analysis system. It also publishes an annual statistical yearbook. It provides a forum for exchange of information and agreement on common initiatives regarding technology &environment. CIRFS closely monitors economic developments and prepares papers based on this.

Cashmsere and Camel Hair Manufacturers Institute (CCMI)

Profile: CCMI works for the promotion of genuine cashmere and camel hair products and protection of their manufacturers, retailers and consumers. It aims for maintaining the integrity of cashmere and camel hair products through education, information and industry cooperation by establishing relations with governments at both national and international levels; testing end products of camel hair or cashmere yarn garments including free fiber content testing service for its own members; media relations, and industry relations by providing forum to discuss important issues for finding workable solutions.

The National Cotton Council of America (NCC)

Profile: NCC works for enhancing the US cotton industry segments so that it can compete effectively in raw cotton, oilseed and US manufactured product markets at national & international levels. It acts as a forum for consensus-building among producers, ginners, warehousers, merchants, cottonseed processors, dealers, cooperatives and textile manufacturers. It represents its members before the government to protect their interests

American Sheep Industry Association ( ASI)

Profile: ASI, a federation of 44 state sheep associations and individual members, represents more than 69,000 sheep producers of the United States. It works through its five councils for Legislative Action; Research and Education; Resource Management; Lamb; and Wool. It is the recognized voice for sheep producers regarding sheep industry issues. The American Wool Council, its largest division, works to improve and promote the usage of American wool, both in domestic & international markets. It has many publications including 'ASI Weekly', the only weekly newsletter devoted exclusively to sheep industry issues and 'Sheep industry News', the monthly tabloid containing news & featured stories on the sheep industry.

The Fiber Society

Profile: The Fiber Society is a scientific association whose membership is open to chemists, physicists, and engineers with interests in the field of fiber science engineering and technology. The Society works for 'Advancement of scientific knowledge pertaining to fibers, fiber based products, and fibrous materials.' It sponsors two technical meetings each year, attendance at which is open to all interested in the field. It also sponsors an award for 'Distinguished Achievement in Fiber Science' for individuals under 40 years of age who have made significant contributions to the field. For recognizing outstanding contributions in the field, it sponsors the 'Founders Award', which is given regardless of age. It also awards Honorary Membership in recognition of life-long contributions to the field.
