Different varieties of crocheted fabrics give an impression of mesh or net. This highly decorative fabric is made with the help of crochet hook or crochet machine. Like knitting, in crocheting too, the loops of yarn are pulled through other loops to make fabric. However, it differs from knitting as only one loop is active in all types of crocheting except Tunisian crochet. A variety of threads and yarns are used for making crocheted fabrics. Initially, cotton thread was considered the crochet thread which gave way to linen threads and then to many other threads that included silk threads and other synthetic threads.
